travel with care. leave with memories.
Tourism that brings people together.
Switzerland is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations. Its diverse landscapes, cultural identity and high quality of life make it a unique place for visitors from Switzerland and abroad. To keep it that way, the support of local communities is essential – people who welcome tourism and see it as a positive part of their community.
But this cannot be taken for granted. Tourism is part of everyday life – in cities, villages and residential areas, on public transport, on the roads and in nature. Wherever different interests come together, expectations, questions and challenges arise. This makes it all the more important to understand how tourism is perceived by the local population and to actively shape how it develops.
This is precisely why Switzerland Tourism (ST) and the Regional Tourism Alliance (RTA) launched the “Travel with care. Leave with memories.” project. Its overarching goal is to promote positive and respectful interactions between visitors and local communities. Two specific measures support this goal.
Firstly, targeted communication measures raise awareness among domestic and international visitors of the importance of respecting nature, local communities and local customs. Secondly, a practical toolbox provides clear, pragmatic and effective resources for strategy, communication and dialogue in the field of sustainable tourism.
Spiez is implementing the campaign locally in collaboration with Switzerland Tourism. The campaign encourages visitors to experience Spiez consciously and respectfully, to show consideration for nature and the local community, and to respect local customs.
